CBS.com Blows it! Reveals Twist Before Live Show! (Spoilers?)

This post contains possible spoilers from a horrendous screw-up at CBS.com.  They posted information about a twist that was presumably meant to be revealed in tonight’s live episode.  If you want to wait until the episode to hear the twist, then read no further!  Otherwise, it’s all after the jump!

SOMEONE’S GETTING FIRED OVER AT CBS.COM

Well, CBS really bit the big one last night.  Remember last week when Julie warned the house guests that “The twists are far from over”?  Well, she wasn’t lying, because as many have speculated, they’re apparently planning for an evictee to return to the house.

Last night during the POV episode broadcast, a poll was posted on CBS.com for America to vote for which evicted houseguest we’d like to see return to the house.  The funny thing was, the poll included Keith, Cassi, Dominic, and BRENDON.  Apparently they’re confident he’s leaving tonight!

oops!

Voting was disabled the whole time the poll was up, presumably because it wasn’t supposed to be posted until after the live eviction tonight.  It only stayed on the site for about 15-20 minutes before it was taken down.

According to this poll, the evictee who’s voted back is not guaranteed a spot–he or she will compete with next week’s evictee and the winner of that competition will come back into the house.  The competition to return will likely be physical, since the evictees have been out of the house for varying amounts of time and I think game-related questions would be unfair .

IS IT REAL?

CBS.com has a history of accidentally spoiling its own shows (I can recall some premature Survivor spoilers in the past), but it also has a history of faking out viewers/hackers with false spoilers.  The most memorable to me was during the first season of Survivor, when a hacker found an embedded image in the CBS website that contained pictures of the entire cast with a big X over each person except Gervase.  The news spread like wildfire and everyone (including talk show hosts) believed Gervase was the winner.  When he was voted out, people were shocked.

It’ll be interesting to see if this one pans out.  I believe it will, because we’re due for a returning house guest season (we had one in seasons 3, 6 and 9).  There was allegedly supposed to be a returnee last year (the first two evictees, Annie and Monet, were sequestered after their evictions) but Julie ruined it when she unknowingly asked Andrew if he was aware of Matt’s lie about his wife.  Since Andrew had been given this privileged information, he was not eligible to return to the house, so then Annie & Monet weren’t eligible, either.  The sequester ended right after Andrew’s eviction.

It’s likely that this twist was an insurance plan to ensure the returning duos weren’t all wiped out in the beginning.  Remember the epic fail that was the saboteur twist of BB12 (i.e. Annie being evicted week 1)?  Production couldn’t risk having another twist fail from the get-go, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they lined this up to hedge their bets.

WHO SHOULD RETURN?

If this twist is real and someone is coming back, I’d be very interested to see who America chooses.  I assume Keith will get less than one percent of votes (because he sucks) but after that I really don’t know what America wants.  Here are my thoughts:

Cassi: She’d make for great drama if she reentered the house, but I find it very unlikely she’ll win any competition to get her back in.  She wasn’t athletic, and she wasn’t particularly good at the game, either.  But just seeing the look on Rachel’s face if/when Cassi walks back in the door would be worth it.

Dominic:  He’s my favorite to reenter the house out of these four.  He’ll probably stir up some drama, he’s good in competitions, and his mere presence will shuffle up the current alliances.  I’m not looking forward to seeing Dominic and Daniele flirting like fifth graders again, though.

Brendon: No.  Please, America.  Don’t vote for Brendon to come back.  I can’t take any more Brenchel-induced nausea.  I’m praying that this doesn’t happen.  If he comes back, he’ll gloat nonstop and act like a giant toolbag (as usual) and it’ll suck.  If you vote for Brendon, the terrorists win.

  2. I do consider all the ideas you have presented for your post. They are really convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are too brief for newbies. Could you please lengthen them a little from next time? Thank you for the post.
